Nationwide recall expanded for potato chips, popcorn due to Salmonella in powdered milk from California Dairies

A nationwide recall of snack products and seasoning mixes has been expanded after a wholesale distributor of bulk powdered milk and buttermilk issued a voluntary recall due to the potential of Salmonella contamination. California Dairies Inc. issued a recall to several wholesale distributors and manufacturers on April 20, with the FDA to address if additional customer recalls are necessary. The first products recalled were Ghirardelli powdered beverage mixes, including frappes and hot cocoa in bulk packaging. Days later, Utz Quality Foods, LLC recalled limited varieties of both Zapp's and Dirty brand potato chips that had the affected product in their seasoning. Those flavors of potato chips include Zapp's Bayou Blackened Ranch, Big Cheezy, Dirty's Maui Onion, Sour Cream and Onion, and Salt and Vinegar. In early May, Pork King Golde issued a recall for some of its sour cream and onion pork rinds and seasoning due to the recall from California Dairies Inc. Since then, snacks and trail mixes from Fisher, Southern Style Nuts, and Squirrel Brand have been recalled, as have certain batches of the Good & Gather Mexican street corn trail mix from Target. Giant Eagle recalled batches of baked pita chips with Parmesan, garlic and herb, and Wildlife Seasoning sour cream and onions, and sour cream and onion cheese curds from Stoltzfus Family Dairy. Several Williams Sonoma popcorn flavors that featured the white cheddar flavor were also recalled. The latest product recalled for containing the affected product from California Dairies Inc. is Parmesan ranch seasoning from Blackstone. @ https://parade.com/food/nationwide-recall-expanded-for-potato-chips-popcorn-due-to-salmonella-risk?shem=rimspwouoe
