Made Fresh Salads, Inc. recalls assorted flavors of Cream Cheese due to Listeria monocytogenes

The FDA reported that Made Fresh Salads, Inc. (Bay Shore, NY) recalled assorted flavors of cream cheese due to the potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The products were sold in 5-pound tubs of the following cream cheese flavors: Cinnamon, Apple, Blueberry, Garlic & Herb, Jalapeño, Jalapeño Cheddar, Lox, Scallion, Strawberry, Sundried Tomato, Vegetable, Walnut Raisin, Whipped Cream Cheese, and Tofu Whipped. The cream cheese was distributed in Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and New York City area by direct delivery to retail stores and distributors. No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall was the result of a company-wide routine sampling program that revealed a part of the mixer used to manufacture finished products was contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
