Leaping Bear Farm of Reading, Vermont, in cooperation with the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets (VAAFM), recalled chicken eggs with cartons dated between June 1, 2026, and September 5, 2026. The VAAFM detected Salmonella Enteritidis in the affected eggs and the farm environment. Eggs were distributed in cartons with Leaping Bear Farm's logo and labeled as Grade A Pasture Raised Organic Eggs. The VAAFM is aware that some products may still be at retail locations or in consumers' homes. The Vermont health officials have linked 14 illnesses to the Salmonella strain. Other states have identified related cases. The Leaping Bear Farm has stopped selling and distributing eggs until the state determines they no longer pose a public health threat. @ https://agriculture.vermont.gov/recall-chicken-eggs-due-potential-salmonella-contamination
