San Diego County public health officials announced Tuesday (7-28-2026) that they are investigating an outbreak of Salmonella linked to Ramona Family Naturals Market, with 13 confirmed and probable cases since June 21, 2026. Four people were hospitalized. Investigators believe the outbreak is connected to mayonnaise made with raw, unpasteurized eggs. The market's owner has been working closely with the County's Environmental Health and Quality and Public Health Services and has stopped using the raw, unpasteurized eggs in all its food products. In general, the public should avoid consuming raw eggs because they pose a risk of Salmonella contamination. The strain of Salmonella found is not linked to the egg outbreak linked to shelled eggs. @ https://www.countynewscenter.com/salmonella-outbreak-linked-to-ramona-deli/
