In Canada, MAPAQ, in collaboration with the City of Montreal's Food Inspection Division and the company Marché Atlas (4265 Jean-Talon Street East, in Saint-Léonard), advises the public not to consume the LEAN MINCED BEEF, as this food is likely to contain Shiga toxin-producing E. coli. The product was offered for sale on July 8, 2026, and only at Marché Atlas. It was packaged in a polystyrene tray covered with plastic film. It was sold refrigerated. Marché Atlas is recalling the product. They have agreed with the Ministry and the City of Montreal's Food Inspection Division to issue this warning as a precautionary measure. Anyone in possession of this product is advised not to consume it. Properly cooking the meat will destroy the E. coli.
