In Canada, the CFIA suspended the license of Abe Quebec, a frozen dessert maker

A CFIA Inspection found problems involving pasteurization, sanitation, and Listeria controls, and as a result, has suspended the licenses of a Quebec-based frozen dessert company, held by Abe’s Frozen Desserts Inc., located in Terrebonne, Quebec, on May 8. That means all food production related to those two licenses must stop during the suspension. The inspection found several problems, including failures in pasteurization controls, preventive control plans, hazard analysis, sanitation, and sampling for Listeria monocytogenes, as well as equipment maintenance and record-keeping. The suspension will be lifted once it is determined that the license holder has taken corrective measures. If corrective action is not taken within 90 days, the license may be canceled. Abe’s Frozen Desserts Inc. produces kosher and dairy-free ice cream and ice pops sold in many local supermarkets. The company’s website currently displays only the message “something cool is coming soon,” with little other information available. @ https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/cfia-quebec-licence-suspension-9.7206402?shem=rimspwouoe,
