Ghirardelli Chocolate Company recalled powdered beverage mixes due to Salmonella

The FDA reported that Ghirardelli Chocolate Company of San Leandro, California, is voluntarily recalling certain powdered beverage mixes because they may be contaminated with Salmonella. This action follows a California Dairies, Inc. milk powder recall due to potential Salmonella contamination, with the product supplied to a third-party manufacturer and used as an ingredient in powdered beverage mixes. The affected beverage mixes are packaged in large formats intended for food service and institutional customers. Still, some powdered beverage mixes may have been available for purchase on e-commerce platforms. No illnesses have been reported to date. Ghirardelli has voluntarily recalled the powdered beverage mixes. The recall was initiated following a recall by California Dairies, Inc., due to potential Salmonella contamination in milk powder supplied to a third-party manufacturer and used as an ingredient in powdered beverage mixes. The Ghirardelli recalls include 13 powdered beverage mixes.
