Hong Kong's Center for Food Safety (CFS) instructed on November 20, 2025, to suspend the import of ByHeart powdered infant formula due to a possible contamination with Clostridium botulinum. This action was taken after the manufacturer, ByHeart, reported finding the bacteria in some of its product samples. The CFS acted out of caution, though the investigation found no affected products were available for sale in Hong Kong at that time. The CFS, through its Food Incident Surveillance System, noted that the FDA of the US issued notices that ByHeart powdered infant formula is being voluntarily recalled due to possible contamination with Clostridium botulinum. Upon learning of the incident, the CFS immediately followed up with major local importers and retailers. Investigation found that the affected products had not been put on sale in Hong Kong. Earlier, the CFS has also published a food incident report to remind the public and the trade. @ https://www.cfs.gov.hk/english/press/20251120_11981.html
