The CORE update lists five outbreak and adverse event postings. A new outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 (ref #1369) linked to raw cheddar cheese has been added to the table, and the FDA issued an outbreak advisory. As of March 14, 2026, a total of 7 confirmed infections have been reported across three states: CA (5), FL (1), and TX (1). For the Salmonella Newport outbreak (ref #1366) linked to an unidentified product, the case count has increased from 54 to 57. The Salmonella Typhimurium and Newport outbreak (ref #1358) has ended. As of March 17, 2026, the CDC reported that 97 people from 32 states have been infected with one of the outbreak strains of Salmonella. For the Salmonella Saintpaul outbreak (ref #1353) linked to mango, the FDA’s investigation has closed. Based on the CDC’s epidemiological investigation, ill people reported eating mangoes before becoming sick. CDC, FDA, and state and local partners conducted epidemiologic and traceback investigations and confirmed mangoes as the source of the outbreak. At the time, investigators had enough information to confirm mangoes as the source, the outbreak was over, and the mangoes were past shelf life and not available for sale. This outbreak is over, and there is no ongoing risk to public health.
