Core update as of December 12, 2025

The CORE update list of outbreaks and adverse events underwent a major rewrite, eliminating many closed outbreaks. The current table includes six postings. A new outbreak of Salmonella Africana (ref #1351) has been added to the table. The FDA has initiated a traceback. During the Salmonella Saintpaul outbreak (ref #1353), the case count has increased from 44 to 50. For the Salmonella Richmond outbreak (ref #1345) linked to moringa leaf powder, as of December 4, 2025, CDC has declared the outbreak over. A total of 11 people infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella were reported from 7 states. The FDA reported the closure of the following investigation: the Salmonella Lomalinda outbreak (ref #1339) linked to spring mix. The FDA’s investigation is closed, based on the CDC’s epidemiological investigation. For the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #1334) linked to an unidentified product, the FDA’s investigation is closed. For the outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis (ref #1329) linked to an unidentified product, the FDA’s investigation is closed. For the outbreak of Cyclospora cayetanensis (ref #1325) linked to parsley, the FDA’s investigation is closed. Based on the CDC’s epidemiological investigation.
