The CORE update lists five outbreak and adverse event postings. There are 2 new entries. For the E. coli O157:H7 outbreak (ref #1369) linked to raw cheddar cheese, the FDA has updated the advisory with sampling results. The FDA has collected and analyzed 19 samples of RAW FARM-brand raw cheddar cheese products. One sample of RAW FARM-brand Cheddar Cheese tested positive for E. coli O157:H7. The FDA conducted WGS, or DNA fingerprinting. The data showed that the strain of E. coli found in the cheese is a different strain from the E. coli in the current outbreak. Instead, this strain matches illnesses from a different 2025 outbreak investigated by the CDC. The outbreak of Salmonella Newport (ref #1366) linked to an unidentified product has increased the case count from 69 to 70. https://www.fda.gov/food/outbreaks-foodborne-illness/investigations-foodborne-illness-outbreaks?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery
