3,308 Gallons of Cold Brew were recalled due to Botulism risk

A recall of cold brew affects 3,308 gallons, distributed in two states (NY and NJ).

The recall is due to the possibility that the cold brew may contain Clostridium botulinum, the bacterium that causes botulism. Brooklyn Roasting Works LLC pulled the product from shelves after discovering that the cold brew’s storage conditions could allow Clostridium botulinum to form, a rare but potentially deadly illness. On July 21, the recall was given the second-highest risk level, Class II, meaning the cold brew is unlikely to cause serious health issues, but could lead to temporary or reversible effects. The manufacturer is Brooklyn Roasting Company Pasteurized Cold Brew Concentrate (63 Flushing Ave Ste B # 123, Brooklyn, NY 11205-1010). The product was packaged in a 2.5-gallon container, with a best-by date of June 30, 2026 through Sept. 30, 2026. @ https://www.eatingwell.com/cold-brew-coffee-recalled-botulism-12027798#citation-1
